CANVASSING - SHARE THE LOVE

This canvassing was held on 30-31March outside 7-11. Some of our committee memebers had went to LAOs on a recee trips, thus, they had bought back some LAOs local product to spread the love in Singapore. Besides that, there are others things like clothes and handmade earrings contributed by our own team member.

Run Round Singapore – Going the Distance
Held on 27 to 28 March 2010
Starting Point: NTU Chinese Hertiage Centre

First ever 218-km mega relay run to celebrate NTU’s 55th anniversary and raise funds for needy students. Alumni, students, staff and supporters came together to take part in this event. OVE is one of the many that had took part in this event. We were the starters for the event. We ran for 3.2km!!!!!

This is the ending stop for our run!! There were goodies bag, free breadtalks bread and bento set provided after the run for everyone.

Guess what we did after a good morning run? BREAKFAST!!! Are you able to guess what we had for breakfast? HA, i think everyone of you might get it correct! MCDONALDS! it's seems like we get back what we lost out from the run.

FIRST GM WITH OUR VOLUNTEERS

After our busy schedule we had for CNY & Valentine day!
It's time to come together to have some bonding session.
We had our first GM with our volunteers at WSC room on 17feb!
The room was filled full that day!
Suddenly, WSC room become so small. ha!

A round of self-introduction with delicious pizza kicked start the whole meeting.
Followed up by updates from the various groups.

Volunteer Recruitment '10 is here!

Hello everyone! The recruitment for volunteers for our overseas trip is here!

Details of the trip are as follows:

Destination- Laos
22nd July to 5th August 2010
Projects include interacting and educating the kids, helping in the construction of sanitation facilities as well as engaging in sports

If you are interested, do head on down to the WSC Room either on the 19th or 20th January anytime between 3pm to 8pm for an interview! Please do bring along the registration form! Looking forward to meeting you!

OVE hall salesssss

It’s OVE 2nd cavassing.
It's held on 28th October 2009 (wed)

We are selling muffins in hall 13/14. There are five flavors: chocolate chip, blueberry cheesecake, peanuts, bananas and mixed fruits!
Muffins selling @ 2 for 2.50 and 1 for 1.50.

HOME SWEET HOME!!!

Thanks everyone for supporting in our cavassing event! Its been a great success! We managed to sell >500 muffins within a time span of 3hrs!

We had our 2nd General Meeting last thursday. The greatest take away from this GM was that we've decided on the country to go to! And the result is... LAOS! :D

It was a tough choice as all four presentations were very attractive and all the countries were in need of much help. Sadly, we can only afford to go to ONE country. After some discussion among ourselves, we finally got down to voting - the democratic way of choosing!

Now that we have a country in mind, we can finally get down to liaising and planning the details. The business managers will also have a goal to work towards when raising funds! :) I'm really excited about all the planning and I believe that the rest of the team are too!

We've also chosen our logo for OVE'10! Titled "Labels of Love", it symbolises the love that we are going to bring to our beneficiaries. I also hope that we will have this love with us as we plan, raise funds and prepare for the trip. All the way OVE'10!

LAOS HERE WE COME! :D

New Places, New Faces

Ove 09/10 has just begun! Meeting new people for the first time is always a nerve wrecking experience... "Who am i gonna meet?", "What am I to expect?"... Questions constantly flashing across our minds... but nevertheless! The first ever meeting of the OVE 09/10 committee was great! There was already an atmosphere of bonding and friendship... A warmth that is what OVE is supposed to be about and constantly exuding...

We wrote letters to ourselves, about what we wanted ourselves to achieve, words of encouragement to oursleves and anything at all under the sun... Idea is to seal all these letters up and only see them when it is time for the committee of 09/10 to handover... Sealed within the letters are hopes and aspirations for our journey throughout OVE... Let's work hard to meeting our goals and just having a blast throughout this entire experience!
